When is the right time for deep talk?
Avoid moments when someone is tired, hungry, or rushing. Find 20 quiet minutes and agree up front that either person may skip a question.
Begin with one question about this week before touching an old or sensitive topic.
Which questions open a real story?
Ask about a small thing that made the relationship feel good, a gesture they value, or something they are looking forward to. Experience-based questions are easier than “what is wrong with us?”.
When your partner answers, reflect what you understood before offering your own view.
How do you stop well?
If the tone shifts or either person becomes defensive, pause. Thank them for what they shared and return another time. Safe deep talk does not have to be completed in one night.
Every question can be skipped. Answers are spoken and are not saved by Bualora.
